總統蔡英文昨（二十三）日表示，我國將積極爭取加入美國主導的「跨太平洋夥伴協定（TPP）」第二輪協商，倘我國能順利加入，將有助提升台美雙邊經貿關係。總統說，目前台灣正面對許多經濟上的挑戰，因此台美關係在此時期相當重要，也希望未來雙方在經貿合作上能有更多交流。
美國聯邦眾議員畢廷澤及霍格仁訪問團昨日下午由「美國在台協會」（AIT）處長梅健華與外交部次長李澄然陪同，到總統府晉見總統，總統是在致詞時作了前述表示。同時總統也感謝兩位議員長期支持我國，並期許未來台美關係與互動能更加深化。
